Connect Shopify
The Shopify connection uses an app you create in Shopify’s Dev Dashboard. Infynia’s wizard shows what to enter and tracks the installation. At the end, you enter that app’s Client ID and Client Secret.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You need permission to create and install apps in your Shopify store.
- Check that the app and store belong to the same Shopify organization.
- Keep your
your-store.myshopify.comdomain available in case automatic store detection does not work.
1. Open the wizard in Infynia
Section titled “1. Open the wizard in Infynia”- Open Integrations and go to the Store and payments tab.
- Choose where Shopify fits in:
- As your primary checkout: under Your checkout platform, choose Shopify. When Infynia asks Where does your customer complete the purchase?, choose On Shopify’s checkout. If payment happens on another platform, choose that platform instead of Shopify.
- As your online store: with your checkout already connected, click Connect online store and choose Shopify. If Infynia asks whether the platform is your online store or your checkout, choose Online store.
- The Connect Shopify page opens with a setup video (Watch the setup) and the wizard in three parts: Set up the app, Install, and Credentials.
- Click Open the Dev Dashboard. In Shopify, choose Create app, then Start from Dev Dashboard, and name the app, for example “Infynia”.
2. Configure and release the app
Section titled “2. Configure and release the app”In Shopify’s Versions tab, follow the values shown in the wizard:
- Paste the App URL provided by Infynia into the field with that name.
- Uncheck Embed app in Shopify admin.
- Under Webhooks API version, select the version shown in Infynia.
- Copy the complete Permissions (Scopes) list from Infynia into Shopify.
- Click Release. Return to Infynia and continue with I’ve set up the app.
Always use the URL, version and permissions shown on your connection screen. They are the current references for your setup.
3. Install and finish connecting
Section titled “3. Install and finish connecting”- In the Dev Dashboard, open the app and click Install app. Select your store and confirm the installation.
- Return to Infynia. The wizard tries to recognize the store automatically. If it does not, click I’ve installed it, continue and enter your store when asked.
- In Shopify, open App settings and copy the Client ID and Client Secret.
- Paste them into the matching Infynia fields. If the Client ID is already filled in, check that it belongs to the same app.
- Click Connect and wait for confirmation.
If you cannot connect
Section titled “If you cannot connect”Check the store, app installation and permissions. Client ID and Client Secret are different values and must belong to the same app. If your store is linked to another Infynia account, contact support.
- Shopify did not allow the app to connect: the message shows the store and the Client ID used in the attempt. Check that this is the store you want to connect, that the Client ID belongs to the app you created in the Dev Dashboard, and that the app and the store belong to the same organization.
- The setup expired or was replaced by another attempt: click Check again or go back to Integrations and start over.
Shopify may also restrict access to customer data depending on the app type and available permissions.
The official Shopify guide explains how to create and install the app.
After connecting
Section titled “After connecting”If Shopify is your primary checkout, it supplies cart and order data. If it is only your online store, your connected checkout remains the source for recovery.
In Integrations, the Shopify card shows its role (Online store + Checkout, Online store, or Checkout) and what it provides, such as Products and Shipping and tracking. Click Manage to see the Permissions granted by Shopify. If any are missing, add them to the app on Shopify and release a new version. There you’ll also find Update credentials, Redo the setup, and Manage the app on Shopify.
Shipping and tracking
Section titled “Shipping and tracking”Shopify tells Infynia about order shipments and tracking. That lets you use automations such as Order Shipped, Out for delivery, and Order Delivered. When Shopify is only your online store, the updates available depend on your connected checkout. Delivery automations only start sending after Infynia receives the first real delivery update from your store. Until then, they show as Configured, waiting for event.
To send messages, connect WhatsApp, have approved templates and enable messages in Automations. Check the recovery timing and FAQ.
